Meet the Team

Katie McCurter MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
I enjoy connecting with clients via telehealth, particularly when meeting from the comfort of their own environments. In my experience, people often feel more at ease and able to open up. My therapeutic goals begin with reducing psychological and emotional pain and increasing self-efficacy and overall happiness. Whether the source of pain is past trauma, worry about the future, or stresses in current jobs or relationships, I am here to help and support your journey.
I often see clients whose trauma began with primary attachment figures, surviving domestic abuse in the forms of emotional, psychological, physical, sexual, and/or financial abuse. Abuse in close relationships or families can create pervasive and persistent psych-ache and may be passed down from generation to generation. These patterns impact patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating. My work centers on helping clients locate the source of psych-ache and discontinue the pattern of suffering. I utilize tools from several treatment modalities, tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences, to help people safely process past trauma and develop practical plans to move forward on healthier paths.
The most important part of therapy is feeling safe, welcome, and comfortable; I aim to create an open, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space for each client on a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I would be honored to support you on your road to healing and growth.
